CJ had his first date this weekend...and it was with his momma. :) He is a little music freak! The child cannot get enough of it! So, we went on a double-date with my sister, Nikki, and her boyfriend, Corey, to a concert at Woodward Park.
I panicked a little, okay a lot, when we were driving to the concert and saw the temperature. The concert was outside!
Lucky for us, it cooled down enough that it was actually pretty comfortable. Who am I kidding? Luck had nothing to do with it! I was praying and begging God to please keep us cool! The opening performers were Matt Kennon and Jerrod Niemann and Bucky Covington was the main performance. But, to be honest, Mr. Long-Hair wasn't all that great, and we ended up leaving early. Lol!
I haven't watched American Idol since I was 17, so I wasn't too familiar with Bucky Covington. I have heard some of his songs, but his performance was...well...just strange. He's a different kinda guy.

Although CJ started getting bored at the end, he was a little trooper. The concert wasn't quite what I was expecting, but it was so nice spending some one-on-one time with CJ. Since Carl travels for work, I don't get a lot of alone time with either of the boys, and CJ is not one to hide his frustrations when his brother is stealing the attention from him. The next day CJ asked if he could have some alone time in his room, so I kept Jordan busy while CJ worked away. He told me that I couldn't come in until he was done. I trusted that he wasn't setting anything on fire so Jordan and I were able to have some one-on-one time as well. After about fifteen minutes or so, and about 5 trips into the different rooms of the house looking for...well, I'll let you wait and see what he was looking for...CJ announced that he was ready for me. I grabbed my camera knowing how CJ's little mind works. And I was glad I did. :)
Yep, he gathered all of his cars, except for the green one right there, still not sure why, and lined them up on their toy box. He was so very proud of himself, and so was I. He's got his Momma's OCD genes running through those little veins. :) Oh, and the toy box is a family keepsake. My grandpa made it for me when I was little, which explains the hearts. :)
I love the last picture of CJ! He looks so proud of himself!
