Myrtle Beach!

Warning: Picture Overload! This is gonna be a long one...

On Tuesday, the 29th, we headed down to Myrtle Beach, SC to go camping for a few days. It was the boys' first camping trip, and considering Jordan's sleeping patterns, or lack thereof, I expected a struggle. But, honestly he did amazing, and so did CJ. I had never seen the Atlantic Ocean and wanted to know what all the hype was about. And let me tell you, I'll take the East Coast beaches over the West anytime. Well, not anytime. Maybe once they clean up the oil spill because I'm sure it won't be as pretty once it washes up on those shores. Darn it! Anyway. The water was warm, the beach was clean, and there weren't seagulls and seaweed to ruin our day! We camped at the Myrtle Beach KOA. My dad has a fifth-wheel that they stayed in and they rented Steph, Frank, the boys, and me a cabin for the three nights we were there.

Home Sweet Home. And yes, by the way, it was air conditioned. Thank God for modern technology!

They had a little 2-foot pool attached to the big pool. Jordan never had so much fun! :)

And they had a play area with all kinds of fountains and water thingies that sprayed water everywhere. That was probably CJ's favorite place.

They had this amazing thing called an Air Pillow. It was basically a trampoline. CJ enjoyed it, but I think it was Frank and Austin's favorite. :)

Of course, it wouldn't be a family trip if we didn't have something dramatic happen. I swear, every time I turn around, God is reminding me that HE is in control and that my little boys are miracles that HE is protecting each and everyday. I really need to learn to trust Him. We did our absolute best to keep the boys far away from the fire. I moved their chairs back, Frank roasted their marshmallows for them, and we told them that if they needed something, they had to walk behind the chairs that were around the fire, not in front of them. Do you think that stopped Jordan? Not for one minute. In a split second he stood up, ran towards the fire, tripped on a tree root and fell right in. Now let me explain something to you. This fire pit was made from the top of a metal trash can...and that metal was hot! He was in the fire for a good two to three seconds before my dad grabbed him out. That child had not one single singed hair or burn on his body. Not one. I had to console CJ more than Jordan because he was the one panicking. I have never in my life experienced fear like I did that night. I am so very thankful that God is protecting my children and that He knows every step they are going to take before they take it. It is only by God's amazing grace that Jordan was protected that night.

Can you tell it was hot?!

CJ with his first "smorf" :)

Jordan wasn't interested in the whole thing, he just wanted the marshmallows. Roasted or not, he didn't care!

That's right. I was rocking one amazing pair of pajamas the next morning!

We were literally blocks away from the beach, so we spent most of our time there. Which leads me to our next little emergency. While boogie boarding, Austin was stung by a jellyfish. The lifeguard then informed us that they had a lot of run-ins with them lately and to be very careful. Nice to know before we all went in!

Such a good little uncle :)

CJ took on the very serious task of burying Grandma Amy's legs in the sand.

But didn't like it so much when it was his turn. I know, I know...mean mommy! I promise you, he was laughing right up until we took the picture.

I guess when you're at the beach the last think you want to do is stop for a picture.

See?

I know I look nothing like him, but this is my dad. :)

The boys ate all of the M&M's out of his trail mix. :)

Such handsome little men...

And for all of you West Coast kids, let me introduce you to Friendly's. They make the most amazing sundaes on the planet! And there just happened to be one on the same street we walked down to get to the beach. :)

And for those of you who think I'm just a white girl that can't tan...I'd like you to meet my new bronze skin! :)

Our last night there, we went to dinner at a buffet where I hear they have amazing seafood. I wouldn't know because I won't touch the stuff and thoroughly enjoyed my ribs and chicken. But I'm going to say that based on the six plates of food that Frank ate on his own, it must have been at least halfway decent.

CJ was just excited that he was allowed another helping of "bossert" :)

Yep, 6 plates of food. I wasn't kidding. He's carrying a food baby.
