Making The Most of It

I have a couple of posts to catch up on. Bad Mommy Blogger! Daddy has been home several nights for the past week-and-a-half so we all do our best to stay distraction-free (a.k.a. blog reading/writing for me and XBox for the hubby) during that time so that we are making the most of our time as a family.

Speaking of making the most of our time...that's what I've been attempting to do with the boys. I will most likely be going back to work very soon (tear). After being home with the boys since CJ was 5 months old (and considering I had just gone back to work when he was 3 months old) this will be a difficult, no matter how necessary, transition for all of us. So, here's what we've been up to...

Last Thursday, Cindy and I took the boys to the free Regal movie at Edwards. I have to say, I much prefer Disney/Pixar over Clifford the Big Red Dog. No wonder I had never seen that movie before!

Logan and Cindy

The boys enjoyed the movie, though. I keep telling myself that's all that matters. :)

Afterwards we took the kiddos to Chuck E. Cheese.

I had not been since I was a kid. I was happy to see they still had the classics. :)

Look how sweetly, and patiently, CJ is waiting for his turn!

This seizing horse made me very nervous. CJ thought it was amazing.

Another classic!

I was happy to see that amongst the ridiculously complicated, obnoxious, impossible-to-win games, my boys still enjoyed, and preferred, the games that I used to play.

I think this is my favorite picture from the day!

Jo enjoying his hard-earned loot. Does it surprise anyone that he chose a sucker? Or that a mini Tootsie Pop cost him half of his tickets?!

My wild child

Lately CJ has been begging for attention. And by begging for attention I mean doing anything he has to do to get it. All of you other mommies out there know what I'm getting at. So, last Friday Carl and I dropped Jordan off with Grandma and took CJ out on a date. Sorry, I have no pictures, again with the bad blogger scolding... Anyway, he wanted to go to Red Robin so off we went. He ordered two drinks. At the same time. Sprite and chocolate milk. And then proceeded to put both straws in his mouth and drink them at the same time. He's a goofball and that's what I love about him. We then went to the "Blue Store" which is one of his favorites. Any guesses what it is? Hint: It's one of Daddy's favorites, too. Yep, you guessed it...CJ loves Best Buy just as much as the next man. He picked out a movie and we headed home for the night.

I have loved staying home with the boys and being the one to teach them everything they know, but I'm excited for this new chapter (I plan on making it a very short one!) in our lives. It's going to be nice to have a change in my daily schedule. I'll miss my babies like crazy, but they're going to be in amazing hands! :)
