We Love the Park!

Today we had a playdate planned with Cindy and Logan. CJ was adamant about going to Logan's Park aka Oso De Oro Lake Park. He refers to it as Logan's Park because he had his birthday party there just a couple of months ago. I knew it was going to be a "What did I get myself into?" day when I saw the school bus pull up. The playground was packed and CJ has found a new hobby in running into large groups of children where I can't see him and begin to panic. Call me over protective, but unlike most of the parents in the area, I would like to be able to see my children at all times. But, that's another story.

We stopped and picked up Auntie NiNi and Luke (the dog). The boys absolutely love him! But, Luke's playdate was short lived because he's spastic and wouldn't stay on the leash. Lol!

When we got to the park, Jo drove the boat...

...while CJ went fishing for sharks.

My little man is getting so big!

Jordan spent most of the day going down the rolling slide, like usual.

He wasn't very happy that I let go of him to take this picture.

See that big (very deep!) puddle behind Jordan? Yeah, he jumped/fell in.

Jordan and Logan :)

The boys had a hard time with the teeter-totter because their feet couldn't reach the ground. So, I started bouncing them. That cute little girl informed me that she didn't like that. So, I took the opportunity to instill a very important piece of knowledge into my little boys' impressionable brains. You always sacrifice for the lady. :)

After looking at this picture, I finally agreed with the consensus. It's time for your first haircut, Jo!

Approximately 3.5 seconds after this picture was taken, Logan spilled the entire bottle of bubbles on Cindy's leg. She very graciously accepted it as a lesson of patience. God has such a sense of humor, don't you think? :)

After we came home from the park, I had my post-op appointment. My doctor showed me all of the pictures and informed me that my pain was caused from a small amount of scar tissue that was pinching the remainder of my fallopian tube (that's right, after 2 surgeries there was still some left!) and my ovary together and a medical.mumbo.jumbo.blah.blah.blah.-type cyst that was inside of my ovary. So, needless to say, he cleaned it all out for me and *hopefully* (well, God-willing really) I will not have any more pain. So far, so good.

And last, but not least...

Does anyone have a solution for this? Jordan absolutely loves throwing anything he can find into the toilet, including CJ's beloved Woody. (This picture was CJ's real reaction, it was not posed!) I really don't want to get the safety latch thingies because CJ wouldn't be able to open them when he has to go to the bathroom. And trying to make sure that the door is closed every.single.time someone uses the restroom would just cause even more unwanted stress! So, if you have any practical advice, please send it my way!

  1. Can CJ climb over a baby gate? We usually have one in the doorway to the bathroom so that Carson doesn't go in there and play in the toilet or get into trouble. Austin can just climb over the gate when he needs to go potty. I put it as far on the outside as it will go (that sounds weird!) so that the door can still be closed when someone goes in.

My parents live right across the street from Oso do Oro so when we lived with them for that 9 months, we were there literally, every day. Thats not even an exxageration. They call it the "bear park" cause of the bear statue thing. And now Town & Country is called "lion park". Although I MUUUUUUCH prefer Oso de Oro...it seems like every time we go to Town & Country its all big kids (like 7 and up) on the playground and so its hard for the little ones to play safely. Oso de oro is usually all toddlers.

  2. I don't know if he can or not. The only ones we have just have the vertical poles, so I don't think he can get over those ones. Maybe I can try to find one with horizontal poles, too. Although all my luck, Jordan will just learn to do it, too. Lol! But thanks for the advice, I'll definitely try it.

We love Oso de Oro, too. And there is no charge to have birthday parties there. It's tempting to do the boys' there since all of our family and friends are in Madera anyway.
